With work starting on the restoration this week, the first task has been brick cleaning. These photos show what an instant difference it makes – really bringing out the original colours. The contractor doing the brick cleaning and repairs (Barwin) is also taking out the blocked-up windows and doors, and will be re-pointing the entire building. The first window has been partially knocked through, as the photo below shows. We look forward to the building being flooded with natural light in a way it never was before. This should help what is still quite a narrow space to feel a bit wider!
