At a special outing of the Railway Heritage Trust (RHT) Advisory Panel to the station on Monday 14th October, a plaque commemorating the station’s restoration and the RHT’s part in that was unveiled. In August 2021 the RHT kindly awarded the Bricket Wood Station Heritage Trust £67,000 towards the restoration of the station, then in June 2023 awarded a further £24,917 towards the provision of the heritage signage and poster cases which now adorn the outside of the building.
Tim Hedley-Jones, Executive Director of the RHT, said:
It was a great pleasure for us to hold our annual Advisory Panel Meeting at Bricket Wood Station, making use of a community space we have helped to restore. Our Panel Members appreciated being able to see the results of our funding at first hand. We were very ably catered for by Cheryl and her team, and the day was capped by the unveiling of one of our plaques.
Robert Yorke, of the Trustees, also gave a presentation about the project, as shown below.
