More windows – and doors too

These images need no introduction. Here is a long-awaited sight and something that many thought they’d never see again. Above all else, windows and doors help return character to a building, never illustrated better than in the transformation now occuring at the station. Soon the building will be ‘dry’ and work can then commence on the internal fitting out.

Seen from the platform side, all of a sudden the clock is turned back nearly 100 years.

Here is the entrance at the car park side. A small concession to modern regulations has been made by having the four upper panes glazed (originally they were solid).

On the platform side this is one of the ‘dummy doors’.
